She released the self-titled record in August 1999 meaning that she recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of its release.
Looking back on her 1999 self Christina reflected: ‘Well, she was just ready. She was doing everything, being worked a lot.
‘I mean, I’ve been working for my whole life so to be here now as a grown woman and to reflect on that time, and to just be here now, and as a woman so assured of myself, and you know, now I have kids that can watch at home, so it’s really exciting.’

Stars pulled out all the stops at this year’s American Music Awards but it was Christina Aguilera that definitely won in the statement sartorial stakes.
Styled by Karen Clarkson, the singer stepped out in a look from the Jean Paul Gaultier Couture autumn/winter ’17 runway and it definitely lived up to the avant-garde vibe the designer is so synonymous with.
From the padded, exaggerated shoulders, to the hooded feature, it’s a statement design to say the least, but we’d expect nothing less from a couture piece!
Obviously there’s nothing quite like this out there to buy, but why not get inspired by the winter white shade, plunge neckline and luxe embellished material and shop the styles we’ve lined up for you below? We think you’ll find they’re definitely what a girl wants, what a girl needs!
