Chamber of mines secretariat inaugurated

The Mining industry remains a key enabler of industrialization and broad-based economic development for Ghana and contributes to the country’s GDP, internal revenue generation and socio-economic development.
This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Benito Owusu-Bio at the inauguration of the Ghana Chamber of Mines’ Secretariat in Accra on Monday.

He noted that the inaugural ceremony underscores the long term outlook of member companies of the Chamber for their operations in Ghana and their commitment to maintain a foothold as the country continue to lead in responsible mining on the continent.
He indicated that the Ministry has taken note of the many social projects that member companies of the Chamber undertakes such as construction of roads to the provision of other social infrastructure, health centers, schools and electrification projects among others.

He commended the current Executives of the Chamber for seeing to the realisation of accommodation fit for a secretariat.
