The Ghana Youth Movement (GYM) is here to save the Ghanaian youth from the hardships, abject poverty and the injustices meted out to the poor. How can a poor child be regarded as a second citizen in a country of his or her birth? How can we allow foreigners to escape punishments but jail Ghanaians on same offense? How can we allow this government to collapse Ghanaian businesses but support foreign businesses to flourish?
For many years, Ghana’s natural resources have been sold to the highest bidder in the name of open-market, encrusted in capitalism. The Chinese invasion in Ghana is somehow akin to the European / American invasion of our economy and the means of capital. Ghana’s benefit from the large-scale mining companies remain paltry and insignificant on the balance of scale. The same applies to cocoa, timber, etc.
Early 2020, we will launch the *Ghana Youth Movement (GYM)* in Washington DC, USA, where we will grant interviews on TV and Radio Stations for people to watch and listen from all over the world. After, we will travel to Ghana and begin massive campaign on mining issues, corruption matters and collapse of Ghanaian-owned businesses. Branches of the movement will be formed in all the districts in Ghana and the diaspora.
Some of the countries include USA, Canada, UK, Germany, Spain, Holland, Portugal, Brazil, Italy, Australia, Norway, Finland, South Africa, Togo, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Guinea, DR Congo, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Nigeria, Cameroon, Rwanda, Algeria and Angola. We will engage other organizations that will share our sentiments which touch on the liberation of the poor children, economic freedom, accountability, transparency and justice.
We have Ghanaian contacts in all these countries and they are ready to propagate truth to the people and sacrifice for the nation as our forefathers did. Lots of Ghanaians, especially the youth are disappointed in this and previous governments with their blame games. This is the time for us to act and put this government and future governments on their toes. *Ghana must rise in our generation to prepare better living conditions for our unborn generations. Some people sacrificed for us so it is time for us to offer same.*
The purpose of the movement is to form a strong youth advocacy group from all over the world, negotiate with a presidential candidate who will be willing to consider the interests of the youth after winning power and focus on the will of the people towards the transformation of our natural resources to benefit all Ghanaians.
*_An agreement may be signed between the group and the presidential candidate so that we can have a legitimate reference to remind the candidate of his promises to the Ghanaian youth and if possible, take legal action against him or her upon deviation from the youth’s roadmap which champions for prosperity of all citizens. The ordinary Ghanaian should be recognized at all levels._*
*_Job creation, mining problems, security matters, health issues, education issues, local business supports, basic infrastructure problems and economic freedom will be the core items on the agenda for discussions. We need an accountable and good leadership to manage our oil & gas, gold, diamond, bauxite, manganese, lithium and other undiscovered mineral resources that will benefit all. We can’t continue with this accelerating rate of corruption in government, where politicians become rich overnight at the detriment of the poor taxpayers_*
We should not allow the foreign nationals to smuggle our natural resources. We shouldn’t sit unconcerned for them to take over the country. *NEVER!!!* Ghanaians should not suffer amidst all these blessed rich natural resources. Let’s all support this movement to make Ghana great and strong tcomrds prosperity!
