“During the Christmas holidays, I plied the Accra-Winneba road on several occasions and observed something that needs to be highlighted about the Police Service and how they did their job during the period.
I must say that the Police command in the Central Region as well as the gallant young men and women in the service deployed to the various locations lived up to expectations during the Christmas festivities.
Though it has become a norm for them to deploy men and women to man our roads during Christmas holidays and other major events, what I witnessed this time around beats my imagination.
The Christmas visibility of the Police Service in the Central Region during these holidays has been phenomenally unprecedented.
Between Accra and Winneba alone, I could count not less than 8 checkpoints, and this hasn’t happened before. And all the police men and women took risks staying in the darkness and being bitten by merciless mosquitoes.
This has led to zero cases of reported accidents on the road and criminal activities which usually occur during such times.
It is against this backdrop that I am using this medium to commend the Inspector General of Police and the Central Regional Police Command for such a wonderful job.
Once again, the young men and women who were deployed to protect motorists before, during and after the Christmas festivities deserve commendations.
May God bless the Police”.
