BREAKING NEWS: Ghana slotted in Group H for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar

Ghana have been placed in Group H of the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament to be hosted in Qatar.
The Black Stars are in the same group as European powerhouse Portugal, Asian giants South Korea and 1950 Champions, Uruguay.
Ghana, making their fourth appearance at the mundial, will be playing their group opener against Portugal; then against “foes” Uruguay for the second game and finally against South Korea.
At the quarter-finals of the 2010 held in South Africa, Ghana was painfully eliminated by Uruguay on penalties after a one all score in stipulated time.
Hell broke lose in the dying embers of the game, after Uruguay’s talisman Luis Suarez, handled a goal bound-ball, which could have given Ghana a historic African-first ticket, to the semi finals.
But the referee, Olegario Benquerenca, who could have whistled for a goal, rather awarded a penalty to Ghana, which was squandered by Asamoah Gyan.
Ghana also played and lost to Portugal, in the final group game at the 2014 FIFA World Cup held in Brazil. Thus this will be the second meeting between the two countries.
The Stars will engage the Republic of South Korea in the third and final group game.
Ghana eliminated Nigeria on an away goal after an uncompromising game at the Moshood Abiola Sports Stadium in Abuja on the 29th of March this year to book a ticket to the 2022 World Cup.
