Fatawu Dauda Reveals Why He Left Enyimba FC

Ghana Black Stars goalkeeper Abdul Fatawu Dauda has revealed that, he left Nigerian based club, Enyimba FC because of betting scandals.
Fatawu also known as “Lion” made this revelation in an interview via Angel TV at the time Ghana Premier League is smeared with match fixing that led to suspension of some officiating officials and footballers.
The former Legon Cities shot-stopper wonders why players would be excited for loosing games after the team had travelled for days to honor matchday, hence his decision to quit playing in the Nigeria Professional League.
“The reason why I finally decided to leave Enyimba FC is because of betting. You know Nigeria is a big country, sometimes we can be on the road for two days travelling for an away game .”
“Enyimba FC can loose a game but you would see players happy only to his shock to know that some of his team-mates were betting on the matches” he added.
Fatawu further stressed that betting can easily destroyed the beautiful game of football if severe punitive measures are not meted out to clubs and individuals involved.
