Respect Womanhood – Yvonne Nelson fires back at Sarkodie

Ghanaian actress and author of ‘I AM NOT YVONNE NELSON’, Yvonne Nelson, has responded to Sarkodie’s track ‘Try Me’ calling out the rapper to respect womanhood.

Yvonne Nelson took to Twitter to tell Sarkodie he may be applauded for his ‘Try Me’ song but that doesn’t change the truth she spilled out in her memoir.

Insults won’t work, Michael. Respect womanhood. I’m happy the world gets to see how you are handling this and the real you. Young women can learn from this. You may receive applause for your rap, but it still doesn’t change the TRUTH.” She said.

Sarkodie referred to Yvonne as a ‘Street Girl’ in his ‘Try Me’ song.

Parts of the song says;

 “I never thought I was going on this wave, cause I was ready to take a couple of things to my grave. First of all, let me clap for you, baby, you are brave, but you can’t pick and choose what to say, please behave. Nobody sent you, so Ohemaa if you want to talk, you have to tell the world every nigga that you f!cked.”

Social media users who are on Sarkodie’s side have applauded the rapper for responding to Yvonne, while others still support Yvonne for showing the dark side of Sarkodie.
