I was once a married man – Jim Iyke discloses

Nollywood actor Jim Iyke in an exclusive interview with one of Nigeria’s media personalities, Chude Jideonwo, revealed he was once a married man.

According to Jim, he is not a man who loves to show off certain aspects of his life because he loves to put people in suspense, and that makes him who he is.

Narrating how his marriage collapsed, Jim explained that the demise of his mother shut down his world, and as a result of that it affected his marriage.

The actor went on to say that he was responsible for having a failed marriage and no one is to be blamed for that.

“I have experienced a failed marriage, but not many people are aware of it. I have three kids. I take responsibility for the collapse of my marriage. I’m not the kind of person who blames others for my mistakes. There’s a saying, ‘To boss up, own up.’ I tend to take the easier way out sometimes.”

Following his mother’s death, his relationship with his wife and son went ‘south’.

“Just as I was starting to cope with the loss, my partner became pregnant with our first son. Suddenly, I found myself in a quiet space, with no one to take care of me anymore. The grief hit me hard, and I couldn’t sleep for days. I became irritable and was not the loving man she knew.”
