Bryan Acheampong Files NPP Flagbearer Nomination, Promises Bold Leadership and Continuity

The Minister for Food and Agriculture and Member of Parliament for Abetifi, Hon. Bryan Acheampong, has officially filed his nomination to contest the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primaries ahead of the 2026 general elections.

Surrounded by a strong contingent of party supporters and loyalists, Bryan Acheampong submitted his forms at the NPP national headquarters in Accra, signaling his readiness to lead the party and the country into the next phase of development.

“Today, I take this step not for personal glory, but to serve my party and my country with bold, visionary, and pragmatic leadership,” he said in his address.

Focus on Economic Recovery, Security, and Youth Empowerment

Bryan Acheampong, a former Minister of National Security and respected technocrat, emphasized that his leadership would be anchored on economic recovery, national security, and youth-focused policies.

“We need strong, practical leadership to restore hope, create jobs, and secure the future of our young people. I bring the experience and the courage to make the tough decisions necessary for Ghana’s transformation.”

He also pledged to sustain the government’s flagship programs in agriculture and digital transformation while introducing new reforms to boost productivity and innovation across sectors.

Call for Discipline and Party Unity

Touching on internal party affairs, Bryan Acheampong urged his fellow aspirants and supporters to conduct their campaigns with dignity and discipline.

“We must run a clean campaign. Let’s avoid insults and work together to present the NPP as a united, focused, and credible alternative. After the primaries, we must all rally around the chosen candidate.”

Rising Profile Within the NPP

Bryan Acheampong’s entry into the flagbearership race adds momentum to an already heated contest that includes Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Hon. Kennedy Agyapong. With his background in military intelligence, governance, and agriculture, he is expected to be a strong contender.

As the countdown to the primaries continues, his message of bold leadership, economic revitalization, and party unity may shape the narrative of the campaign season.
