Kufuor: Unity key to NPP’s future progress
Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has advised members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to prioritise unity, describing it as crucial to the party’s future success and ability to effectively govern the country.
Speaking in an interview on The Delay Show hosted by Deloris Frimpong Manso, Mr Kufuor urged party members to set aside internal differences and rally around the shared principles and ideals of the NPP.
Unity is key to the NPP’s future progress. We might not be friends or allies, but because we all believe in the principles and ideals of the party, it is important to unite to push the party,” he said.
According to the former President, party unity is not only essential for electoral success but also for effective governance.
He noted that voters value cohesion and are more likely to trust a united party with the responsibility of leading the nation.
“Ghanaians appreciate unity. We will be able to serve Ghanaians better if we are united to serve them well when we win power,” he added.
Mr Kufuor’s remarks come as the NPP undertakes efforts to rebuild and reorganise following its loss in the 2024 general elections. The party is scheduled to elect its flagbearer in January 2026.
