Agradaa to be released on 3 March
Evangelist Nana Agradaa is expected to complete her custodial sentence on 3 March, 2026, following the application of Ghana’s standard remission policy.
Her legal counsel, Richard Asare Baffour, said, the projected release is the outcome of routine correctional procedures and not a special intervention.
He explained that under the remission framework, inmates who meet eligibility criteria serve two-thirds of their sentence, with the remaining one-third waived.
Agradaa received a 12-month jail term in July 2025. With remission applied, the effective sentence reduces to eight months, setting the revised completion date at 3 March, 2026.
Baffour emphasised that remission is a universal provision within the prison system and applies to all qualifying inmates. He described it as a mechanism designed to encourage good conduct and rehabilitation rather than a form of preferential treatment.
Authorities have reiterated that remission does not constitute exoneration and remains a long-standing feature of the correctional framework in Ghana.
