Police arrest 4 suspects over robbery attack on okada rider at Fomena

The Fomena Police have arrested four suspects in connection with a robbery attack on an okada rider on February 22, 2026.

According to a Facebook post by the Police on Saturday, February 28, the victim reported to the Fomena Police Station with a machete wound on his left toe.

He told officers that while returning from Old Ayaase after dropping off a passenger, he was ambushed by about ten tricycle riders who had blocked a section of the road with their tricycles and other objects.

He said the group attacked him, inflicted a machete wound on his leg, and made away with his unregistered Haojin motorbike valued at 15,000 cedis” the statement read.

Police said they acted swiftly on the complaint and arrested Adom Peter, Abdul Zakari, Andy Benjamin, and one juvenile suspect within the Fomena township on the same day to assist with investigations.

During the operation, officers retrieved the victim’s Haojin motorbike, a machete, one tricycle, and its ignition keys.

The Command has assured the public of its continued commitment to protecting lives and property and urged residents to provide timely information to support crime prevention efforts.
