2026 World Cup qualifiers: Black Stars to face Mali, others in Group I

The Black Stars of Ghana have been placed in Group I for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana has been grouped with Mali, Central African Republic, Comoros, Madagascar, and Chad.

To be able to qualify for the 2026 world cup, Ghana has to top Group I but if the team fails to be on top of the group, we should be among the top four runners-up in the group stage.

The four teams will play a mini-tournament to have a winner. The winner then plays an intercontinental play-off to secure a place for the Mundial.

For the first time, a World Cup tournament will be hosted in three countries, i.e. USA, Canada, and Mexico.
