Reshuffle: Gilbert Adjei appointed Defence Minister, Zanetor for Environment

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed the Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources, Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, as Minister for Defence as part of a ministerial reshuffle.
A statement from the Presidency said the President had reassigned Mr Adjei to the Defence Ministry and submitted the changes to Parliament through the Speaker in accordance with Article 78(1) of the 1992 Constitution.
The reshuffle also saw Ahmed Ibrahim, MP, reassigned from the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs to the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources.
President Mahama further nominated Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, MP, as Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation-designate and Mahama Ayariga as Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs-designate.
The nominations are subject to approval by Parliament.
