Ahafo Ano South West DCE Abubakar Sedik is dead

The District Chief Executive for Ahafo Ano South West in the Ashanti Region, Abubakar Sedik is dead.

He died on Sunday (September 21, 2026). 

This happened moments after he returned to the district capital of Mankraso after attending a meeting of metropolitan, municipal and district chief executives in Kumasi.

The meeting was with the new Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Mahama Ayariga, and the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene.

He was said to have complained of bodily pains, was taken to a hospital where he died.

Abubakar Sedik became the DCE for Ahafo Ano South in 2025, He was parliamentary candidate of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 election.
