During the Zambia visit, Mahama is expected to hold bilateral talks with Hichilema on trade, investment, infrastructure connectivity, and regional integration under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
A key event will be Mahama’s address to Zambia’s National Assembly, where he will outline Ghana’s vision for a more integrated and economically connected Africa.
The two leaders will also co-chair a Ghana-Zambia Business Dialogue, giving Ghanaian firms an opportunity to showcase digital technologies and fintech solutions to Zambian businesses and government agencies.
Mahama will meet members of the Ghanaian community in Lusaka during the trip.
The presidency said the visit underscores Mahama’s commitment to accelerating AfCFTA implementation, which he views as essential for job creation, youth employment, and Africa’s competitiveness in the global economy.
The statement was issued by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, presidential spokesperson and minister for government communications.
